A new home
Update Summer 2016
Last months the construction of a new building has started and below you can find some pics on how it's progressing. This is possible thanks to the donations received and local donations from another foundation in Colombia.
Sometimes you hear people say 'dreaming doesn't cost anything', which is true. I even discovered over the last months that you can make dreams come true and that, fortunately you are even not alone! In the last week of June 2011, the Maria Patricia Garcia Foundation (the Dutch abbreviation is SMPG) donated a house, with an associated land of 400m2, to 50 orphan girls in Bogotá-Colombia (with a total value of €55.000,-). This was realized thanks to small gifts, a donation of Share4More (Rabobank Foundation) and a lots of donations from individuals.
We were able to achieve this milestone with the help and the enthusiasm of people around us. The goal is to collect €200.000,- with the ultimate goal to build a housing for approximately 100 orphan girls.
Next to the new home the intention is to create a kitchen garden and some classrooms. With this the orphanage will become less dependent in donations and will be more self sufficient.
Will you help to achive the dream of these orphan girls ?
